UBS on Tuesday issued downgrades for retail stocks Macy’s ( M , $6.80) and Kohl’s ( KSS , $22.33), but in so doing also laid out the new operating blueprint for fashion brands. "To deliver steady long-term growth, we believe brands can no longer rely on Malls or Dept. Stores to drive traffic," a UBS analyst team led by Jay Sole writes. "Brands have to generate their own audiences and become destinations." 14 Bankruptcy Filings Chalked Up to COVID-19 "Premium" brands should be able to operate in a virtuous cycle that help them at the top of the retail food chain: A strong value proposition earns high gross margins. As IMO hosts latest discussion on climate action, new report reveals 95 per cent of shipping executives see decarbonisation as one of their top priorities Shell has today published a major new report exploring how the shipping industry is working to curb its carbon emissions and how barriers to decarbonisation are hampering progress. Timed to coincide with the latest round of talks at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) on the industry's emissions reduction plans, the report draws on in-depth interviews with over 80 senior shipping industry executives from across Europe, North America, and Asia. Undertaken in partnership with consultancy giant Deloitte, the report reveals growing engagement across the industry with the urgent need to cut emissions, as well as concerns over the pace at which shipping infrastructure can be replaced. Titled All Hands on Deck , the report found an overwhelming 95 per cent of those interviewed "view decarbonisation as important or a top-three priority", while nearly 80 per cent noted that its importance had increased significantly over the past 18 months.
