(Pelican Stockholdings)とOceanFreightを合併した。 ドライシップスは、ギリシャのドライバルクタンカ―の所有企業。子会社を通じ、ドライバルク船による海運事業とオフショアでの採掘事業の2事業を展開。鉄鉱石や石炭、穀物などを運搬する大型バルク用船舶と、ボ―キサイトやリン酸塩、鉄鋼製品などを運搬する小型バルク用船舶を運航。超深海採掘船も所有する。 DryShips, Inc. engages in ownership and management of ocean going cargo vessels and provision of drilling services. It operates though the following segments: Drybulk, Offshore Support, Tanker, Gas Carrier, and Other. The Drybulk segment consists of transportation and handling of drybulk cargoes through ownership and trading of vessels. The Offshore Support segment includes offshore support services to the global offshore energy industry through the operation of a diversified fleet of offshore support vessels. The Tanker segment refers to the vessels for the transportation of crude and refined petroleum cargoes. The Gas Carrier segment focuses on the vessels for the transportation of liquefied petroleum gas. The Other segment relates to the company's investment activities. The company was founded by George E. Economou on September 9, 2004 and is headquartered in Athens, Greece.
