Baring Asia, Everstone Capital lead race for Hinduja's healthcare BPO  2021/05/05 18:22:13 Economic Times India
Baring Private Equity Asia and Everstone Capital have emerged the front runners to acquire a controlling stake in the healthcare outsourcing division of Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) that has been carved out by the eponymous conglomerate as part of a value unlocking exercise. The two PE funds are expected to submit a binding offer in the next one month, said people familiar with the matter. They expect the transaction, valuing the unit at $500-600 million, to be announced in the current quarter itself.Late last year, listed HGS started a formal process to hive off its healthcare BPO, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, and mandated Barclays to run a formal process to find a buyer. The process had seen interests from bulge bracket funds including Blackstone, Carlyle, Apax and Advent.ET reported on February 18 that HGS had begun a process to dilute the stake in its healthcare arm.The worldwide healthcare BPO market is expected to cross $400 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 11%.
Hewlett-Packard Enterprise is the latest big advertiser to move business in-house in a loss for ad giant Publicis  2021/04/28 15:26:25 Business Insider
Summary List Placement Hewlett-Packard Enterprise has taken a significant portion of its advertising business in-house, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter, a move that marks a potential loss of millions of dollars in revenue for ad network Publicis Groupe. Publicis won most of the IT giant's global ad business away from rival Omnicom in 2016 after Hewlett-Packard split into two publicly traded companies, HPE and HP, Inc. Ken Robinson, CEO of consulting firm Ark Advisors, which oversaw the 2016 pitch, told Insider HPE's global ad budget was between $50 million and $75 million at that time, and a person with direct knowledge said that number has since increased to more than $100 million. The company spent $1.02 billion on sales and marketing in 2020, according to its annual report. An HPE spokesman said Publicis New York remains HPE's lead agency, and that Publicis-owned agency Digitas handles higher-level media strategy and production work. But the company is adopting a "hybrid model" where an internal team will handle a portion of media planning, buying, and the development of ad campaigns, the spokesman added.
Darktrace Plans First Major London IPO Since Deliveroo Flop  2021/04/12 08:06:40 Yahoo Finance
(Bloomberg) -- British cybersecurity company Darktrace Plc announced plans for an initial public offering in London, marking the first major company to plan a listing on the exchange after Deliveroo Holdings Plc flopped in its market debut. The IPO is expected to value the company at about $3 billion to $4 billion, a person familiar with the matter said. A representative for the company declined to comment on valuation ahead of the shares pricing. Darktrace and shareholders plan to sell at least 20% of the company’s equity, and the stock will trade on the London Stock Exchange’s premium market and be eligible for FTSE’s benchmark stock indexes, the company said in a statement Monday.Unlike Deliveroo, Darktrace won’t offer a dual-class share structure and will be a more traditional listing for the London market, which may reassure some fund managers. The company will sell new shares to fund product development, and some existing investors also will offer stock, Darktrace said.“This is a very different technology company,” Chief Executive Officer Poppy Gustafsson said in an interview. “I love Deliveroo.
5 Texas neighborhoods wealthy homebuyers are flocking to  2021/04/07 15:32:42 Business Insider
Summary List Placement In the last decade, Texas has become a magnet for entrepreneurs and corporations enticed by the state's business-friendly practices and lack of income tax. Since the pandemic, this influx has ramped up even more: Elon Musk , Oracle Corporation , and Hewlett Packard are just a handful of the entities who have relocated to Texas in the last year, driving homebuyer demand from out-of-state residents to an all-time high. The recent storms throughout the state don't appear to have impacted interest, either. However, they did likely deplete already low inventory: According to Realtor.com 's analysis, the total number of homes for sale in the country in February was down by 48.6% year over year . "From a real estate perspective, Texas has never been more booming," George Ratiu, a senior economist with Realtor.com, told Insider. "It's a trend that's been brewing for the last five years, but COVID-19 accelerated it to full speed." Texas has plenty going for it as a place to live: In addition to the tax benefits, it's affordable with a good quality of life, according to Ratiu.

Foxconn, Apple's biggest supplier, is the latest company to be impacted by the global shortage of microchips  2021/03/30 18:25:59 Business Insider
Summary List Placement Foxconn, one of Apple's biggest suppliers, warned Tuesday that the company expects a 10% decline in exports due to the global computer chip shortage. It's the latest of many signs that major electronic companies like Apple and Samsung might face some serious repercussions from a global shortage of semiconductor chips. The shortage was largely caused by the pandemic, and made worse by the Texas freeze. Increased demand for work-at-home devices, alongside manufacturing shutdowns have largely driven the global deficit. Computer chips are used in most major electronics, including anything from phone and gaming consoles to cars and computers. Unable to get their hands on enough of them, many automotive companies have already been forced to shut down plants and prioritize which models to produce due to the shortage. Apple may face similar challenges going forward. Though Foxconn's Chairman Liu Young-way said in February that the chip shortage will have a "limited impact" on the tech giant, he seems to have changed his tune.
