Acorns review: Investing spare change made easy, in exchange for a fee 2021/01/08 22:02:44 Business Insider
Table of Contents: Masthead Sticky Summary List Placement Is Acorns right for you? Acorns is best for investors who want a hands-off investing experience, from start to finish. With Acorns , you don't have to think about setting money aside every month to invest — the app can handle all of that for you through round-ups, "found money," and recurring investments. You don't have to choose your own investments, either. Acorns uses a series of questions to determine how to allocate your assets, then assigns your funds to a specific portfolio of ETFs . Acorns uses these same six funds for every investor but adjusts the asset allocation depending on your goals and risk tolerance. The funds represent a mix of companies, markets, real estate, and bonds. Acorns is more expensive than other investing apps on the market. Most have zero fees, but Acorns' fees start at $1 per month. This may not seem like much, but it can add up to a large percentage of your portfolio if you have a limited amount of money invested.
Retailers including CVS, Kroger, Walgreens, and Walmart aim to speed up coronavirus vaccine administration 2021/01/08 14:57:52 Business Insider
Summary List Placement Albertsons, CVS, Kroger, Walgreens, and Walmart are among the latest retailers to join Operation Warp Speed to help expedite coronavirus vaccine administration, per PYMNTS. Some large retailers had already begun obtaining industrial freezers and medical supplies as well as implementing online appointment systems back in November, in preparation for coronavirus vaccine administration. This initiative comes amid a slow start to US vaccine distribution and administration: US health officials aimed to vaccinate 20 million people before the end of 2020, but less than 3 million people had been vaccinated by January 1, 2021. Retail foot traffic has declined significantly during the pandemic, prompting merchants to shift their strategies to maintain volume. In the week of March 13, retail foot traffic plunged 30.7% year over year (YoY) as the realities of the pandemic set in, causing customers to turn away from stores. The overall holiday season—typically a period when retailers see high foot traffic—saw some major declines as consumers continued to avoid store environments: Foot traffic plummeted 52.1% YoY on Black Friday and 31.3% in the seven days leading up to December 24.

Summary List Placement Digital health innovation offers market incumbents new opportunities to combat constricting margins, labor shortages, and rising costs. But it also poses a threat to slow movers, as new entrants lean on their digital prowess and lack of legacy infrastructure to cut costs and remain nimble. As such, incumbents are turning to acquisitions, partnerships, and new investments to strengthen their digital health services. The first Digital Health Ecosystem Report from Business Insider Intelligence explores the current healthcare ecosystem, industry trends that are driving digital transformation, and where the industry is headed.

Why DTC brands, like Casper, Harry's, and Native, are selling their goods in the retail stores they sought to disrupt 2020/12/05 13:00:00 Business Insider
Summary List Placement The term "direct-to-consumer," by definition, means cutting out the middleman. Over the last decade, companies selling razors, mattresses, clothing, luggage, dog food, and pretty much anything else you can think of, have built their entire brand ethos around the proximity of their product to the consumer. With this proximity came a value proposition: selling their products directly to consumers enabled higher quality products to be sold at lower prices than the "traditional" brands that are purchased by and distributed by retailers. Buying a razor from the shelves of your local Target was tired, buying them from Harry's website was wired. So why is it that recently some of the original DTC disruptors have been popping up in the very place they initially decried — the store? Read more: On the 'All Consuming' podcast, two hosts try out the DTC brands advertised to them on Instagram, and give listeners an insider perspective on marketing and modern consumerism Today, you can walk into that same local Target store and purchase yourself a Harry's razor.
