Trump Lashes Out At Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, Says ''Time To Get Rid Of Fake News'' 2023/03/03 18:34:36 Benzinga
A media company has found itself in the crosshairs of former President Donald Trump . While this sounds like nothing new in recent years, it is a media company that leans to the conservative side of the political spectrum. What Happened: Trump won the 2016 presidential election and served as the 45th president of the United States. He lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden in an election in which Trump challenged the results with false claims. An ongoing trial between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News has uncovered evidence of how the media company handled reporting on the 2020 election. Fox News, a unit of Fox Corporation (NASDAQ: FOX ) (NASDAQ: FOXA ), has been sued by voting machine company Dominion on defamation claims. Dominion said Fox hosts and guests said that Dominion was partly to blame for rigging the election. New documents show how Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch handled the 2020 election claims. Murdoch didn’t believe the 2020 election was rigged or stolen and did not believe Trump''s claims, according to Deadline .
Rupert Murdoch could face FEC fines if he tipped off Jared Kushner about Biden’s presidential ads before they aired 2023/03/03 12:34:46 Business Insider Nederlands
Rupert Murdoch, Chairman of Fox Corporation. Reuters Dominion claims Rupert Murdoch shared info about Biden ads with Trump''s campaign in 2020. Experts said the info could be seen as an "in-kind donation" by the Federal Election Commission. An FEC spokesperson said a "monetary civil penalty" could occur if the commission finds a violation. Fox Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch could face monetary penalties from the Federal Election Commission if Dominion Voting Systems'' allegations that he shared confidential information with Donald Trump''s son-in-law hold true, experts say. In a recent filing in Dominion''s defamation lawsuit against Fox News, the voting systems company alleged that Murdoch provided then-President Donald Trump''s son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner, with information regarding then-candidate Joe Biden''s television ads. "During Trump''s campaign, Rupert provided Trump''s son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, with Fox confidential information about Biden''s ads, along with debate strategy (providing Kushner a preview of Biden''s ads before they were public)," Dominion''s lawyers alleged in the filing.

Paul Ryan will be deposed in Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News over election conspiracy theories 2023/01/30 17:30:54 Business Insider Nederlands
Dominion is scheduled to depose Paul Ryan in its lawsuit against Fox News. The company alleges Fox News pushed false conspiracy theories about its role in the 2020 election. Dominion previously deposed Rupert Murdoch for the case, which heads to trial in April. Former House Speaker Paul Ryan will be deposed by Dominion Voting Systems in its $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News, a new court filing shows. Ryan joined the Fox Corporation board of directors in 2019 after choosing not to run for re-election in the 2018 midterms. He had been speaker of the House of Representatives for more than three years while Republicans were in power, capping off 20 years in Congress. The election technology company is scheduled to depose Ryan on Tuesday morning, according to the filing, which was submitted to court Friday and made public Monday. Dominion sued the Fox News Network and its parent entity Fox Corporation in 2021 , alleging they defamed the company by pushing false conspiracy theories about its role in the 2020 presidential election.
