With over 24 executed deals for hotels, Hyatt Hotels Corporation plans to expand its brand footprint in India and is eyeing an over 70% growth, adding over 3,800 keys with more than 50 hotels in its portfolio in India by 2023.“This is happening for the first time in the history of Hyatt in India,” Peter Fulton, group president, for Europe, Africa and The Middle East/Southwest Asia at Hyatt Hotels Corporation. “We are focused on introducing brands to destinations where guests are currently traveling or would like to travel. The aim is to ensure a multi-brand presence across cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune and Goa,” he added. He said India continues to be a high growth-potential market for the chain and while the demand for travel and hospitality was certainly affected by the pandemic, it has been optimistic about recovery. “February started showing signs of recovery with 56% occupancy. Occupancy for the period 1st to 27th March 2022 is at 69% which is a significant improvement over February.
