7 Reliable Dividend Stocks With Low-Payout Ratios  2023/04/03 20:57:46 InvestorPlace
While it’s always good to have decent exposure to investments yielding passive income, you also want to consider reliable dividend stocks with low-payout ratios. By that, I’m referring to enterprises that pay their dividends via a relatively small pool of their earnings. Generally, companies that feature a payout ratio between 20% to 50% offer confidence for yield sustainability. That’s not to say that companies featuring high-payout ratios are doomed to slash their dividends. However, the advantage is that enterprises undergird dividend stocks with low-payout ratios centered on “margin.” Should economic circumstances worsen, low-payout businesses own more room to protect their dividends and reward their shareholders. In other words, not all passive-income-providing companies stand on equal footing. Below are reliable dividend stocks with low-payout ratios.    Toshiba accepts $15 billion buyout bid from Japan consortium  2023/03/23 17:10:45 The Peninsula Qatar

Toshiba Corp. accepted a buyout offer from a Japanese consortium, as the iconic conglomerate moved a step closer to ending a troubled chapter in its more-than-140-year history.

The Tokyo-based company’s board approved on Thursday a bid of about 2 trillion yen ($15.3 billion) from a group led by domestic private equity firm Japan Industrial Partners Inc., or 4,620 yen per share, it said in a statement. The offer is at about a 9.7% premium to Toshiba’s closing price on Thursday.

As the next step, a tender offer is expected to start in late July, with the exact schedule to be announced later, the company said. Toshiba’s US-listed shares rose 9.2% in New York, the most since October.

Seventeen Japanese companies and six domestic financial institutions will participate in the buyout, Toshiba said. Orix Corp., Rohm Co. and Chubu Electric Power Co. are among the firms, the Nikkei reported before the statement, confirming earlier Bloomberg News reports.

The move could bring down the curtain on years of turbulence at the storied Japanese firm after a series of scandals plunged it into difficulty and set it on the path to a sale.

Toshiba’s preferred bidder moving closer to securing financing for buyout, say sources  2022/12/10 14:00:02 The Sun Daily
TOKYO/HONG KONG : Japan Industrial Partners, the preferred bidder to buy out Toshiba Corp, has moved closer to securing financing from banks, three people with knowledge of the matter said. Concrete restructuring steps proposed by JIP have made a group of lenders, including Toshiba’s main banks Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp and Mizuho Bank Ltd, more confident in JIP’s post-acquisition plans, said two of the people who have direct knowledge of the financing discussions. Toshiba’s shares climbed on the news, up 3% on Dec 9 morning and outperforming a 1.1% advance for the benchmark Nikkei index. JIP, which is planning to form a consortium, is hoping to secure commitments from banks this month for a buyout that would value the industrial conglomerate at around ¥2.2 trillion (RM71.03 billion), part of which would be funded by loans from the banks, one of the people and a fourth source said. Those two sources cautioned, however, that how much each bank will take on in the financing has not been fixed yet and it’s not clear when that would be finalised, they said.
