3 Reasons Investors Should Take a Long Look at JetBlue Stock 2020/08/12 14:43:57 InvestorPlace
Based on pre-crisis earnings, JBLU stock is cheap. But that's not the only reason why JetBlue looks interesting from a long-term perspective.
I flew on JetBlue for the first time during the pandemic and had a sterling onboard experience that couldn't make up for a chaotic terminal and last-minute flight cancellation 2020/08/11 12:07:00 Business Insider
JetBlue Airways is known for its low fares and high frills like complimentary in-flight entertainment and WiFi. Like most, the pandemic has forced the airline to adjust. Unlike its low-cost competitors, JetBlue has opted to block seats while keeping its complementary offerings like entertainment and a snack and beverage service. I flew on the airline from New York to Chicago and saw how the airline is surpassing competitors when it comes to safety and service but is struggling with scheduling issues. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories . JetBlue Airways has always been an anomaly in US aviation: a low-cost yet high-frills airline that's become the thorn in the side of the country's largest carriers. The New York-based airline has approached low-cost with a passenger-first attitude and free extras such as in-flight entertainment and in-flight WiFi, despite low fares. The pandemic saw JetBlue keep its frills but overhaul its route network, pulling out completely from its long-time West Coast hub in Long Beach, California, and doubling down on the East Coast in cities like Newark, New Jersey.
I flew on the infamous Spirit Airlines for the first time and saw how well no-frills can actually co-exist with safety – here's what it was like 2020/08/08 16:46:00 Business Insider
I took my first flight on Spirit Airlines on Monday, traveling from Chicago to New York on one of the carrier's most competitive routes to see how the infamous carrier maintains a no-frills business model during a pandemic. Spirit isn't blocking middle seats but is requiring face coverings to fly and enhancing cleaning practices to ensure peace of mind when it comes to health and safety. The flight was uneventful but the airline surprised me with a friendly and attentive cabin crew, as well as by keeping its in-flight service while others are abandoning it. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories . In all my years of flying, I've managed to avoid flying on Spirit Airlines, until now. Spirit is arguably America's most loved to hate airline and after just one flight, it's clear why passengers might not enjoy the experience. Cramped seats, no in-flight entertainment, and a tired-looking plane all contributed to a lackluster flight. But with the airline offering bargain-basement deals like $27 round-trip between New York and most major cities in Florida and $50 round-trip between New York and Los Angeles, it's also no secret why passengers keep coming back.
