NORTHAMPTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / September 27, 2022 / When unique business needs meet specialized capabilities, special things can happen. And that''s exactly the scenario that led to a deal between PNC and Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc. Berkshire Hills Bancorp recently announced the completion of the public offering and sale of its inaugural sustainability bond - a $100 million bond issuance to help finance environmentally or socially conscious projects. PNC FIG Advisory, part of PNC Capital Markets LLC, acted as joint underwriter and coordinator for the offering. In addition, the firm was the sole Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) structuring agent on the transaction, leveraging experts from PNC''s Sustainable Finance practice along with Berkshire''s ESG leadership, to help to formulate the bond''s sustainability performance targets, among other consulting services. What is a sustainability bond? A sustainability bond is similar to a regular bond that a financial institution - or an investor - "buys" from a borrower, also called an issuer or a seller.

6 Stocks to Buy as Inflation Surges  2022/07/22 23:47:56 InvestorPlace
This article is excerpted from Tom Yeung’s Profit & Protection newsletter dated July 21, 2022. To make sure you don’t miss any of Tom’s picks, subscribe to his mailing list here . Finding stocks that will survive high inflation is more complex than it seems. Prices of energy and basic materials — traditional inflation hedges — have fallen over concerns about sagging consumer demand. Retail investors rushing into companies like Indonesia Energy Corp ( INDO ) and Houston American Energy Corporation ( HUSA ) have seen their positions nearly wiped out. Meanwhile high-growth tech companies have fared no better. Firms from Expedia Group ( EXPE ) to Coinbase ( COIN ) are seeing share prices collapse as customers tighten belts and close their wallets this year. When inflation is paired with an economic slowdown, the resulting “stagflation” tends to hammer every industry. Yet, certain classes of stock tend to survive… and even thrive… from rising prices. Some of these firms benefit from higher demand.

The “Sleeper” Stock Quietly Beating Robinhood  2022/07/01 18:44:55 InvestorPlace
This article is excerpted from Tom Yeung’s Moonshot Investor newsletter. To make sure you don’t miss any of Tom’s potential 100x picks, subscribe to his mailing list here . Markets Turn Tail… Again When Once Upon a Time in America was released in 1984, the late Roger Ebert called it “an absolute masterwork of cinema.” The film would go on to win multiple awards and remains a fan favorite on my family’s movie list. There’s just one little problem: The full version is almost 4 hours long. As riveting as the “epic poem of violence and greed” can be, I often sit through the movie feeling as if it’ll never end. Investors watching the markets can relate. Last week, the S&P 500 recovered 6%, just to drop again this week. Short-term traders might call it a dead cat bounce while longer-term investors would call it a gratuitously long “masterwork” by the Fed. And we aren’t even at intermission yet. With interest rates still on track to rise at least another 150 basis points, investors need to switch tactics and buy stocks that benefit from rising rates.

9 Stocks to Survive a “Dead Cat Bounce”  2022/06/29 18:12:36 InvestorPlace
This article is excerpted from Tom Yeung’s Moonshot Investor newsletter. To make sure you don’t miss any of Tom’s potential 100x picks, subscribe to his mailing list here . Could the Fed Pull Off a “Soft Landing? Wall Street breathed a collective sigh of relief last week on better-than-expected inflation figures. The S&P 500 rose 3.1%, breaking its 3-week losing streak. The Fed, it seems, might be pulling off a “soft landing.” It’s a possibility, even if it’s a remote one. The Fed raised interest rates by 3% in 1994 without triggering a slowdown. And 6% mortgage rates today have already started cooling the housing market, as my real estate agent kindly reminds me every time we talk. But 1994 was also an outlier among recessions, much like when I scored 185 in a game of bowling. Nine of the past eleven rate hikes since the 1960s have ended with some economic slowdown, and today’s inflation rate is far higher than the 5% seen in the 1994 cycle. In other words, we’re not out of the woods just yet.
