Deadline reports that Jurassic Park earned just over $517,000 over the weekend of 19-21 June, having displaced last week’s top film The Invisible Man, which had earned around $383,000. The figures derive from an industry report produced by ratings agency Comscore, which stopped publicly reporting box office results in March after the pandemic took hold. The feature parallels Snapchat's massively successful Sponsored Lens ad option, which also utilizes AR to create visual effects that interact with a user's physical environment. TikTok has been inching toward this reality with a similar product called "Branded Effect," which lets users add branded 2D visual effects to their videos — but its new AR format will take it a step further, with interactive 3D elements that will be clickable and feature music.
