12-year-old Rape Victim Kills Herself After Police Discouraged Her From Pressing Charges – Devastated Family Reveals  2022/04/07 17:21:46 The Trent
A 12-year-old rape victim killed herself after police came to her home and discouraged her from pressing charges, a devastated family has claimed, as they say she was made to feel ‘like she was an inconvenience’. Semina Halliwell, from Southport, was allegedly raped by an older boy after being groomed over Snapchat before her death on June 12 last year. The schoolgirl, who had autism, broke down when informing her mother Rachel of the horrific ordeal following a self-harm incident. However, family members have claimed she was told by detectives she would not ‘want this thing hanging over her head’ as the case ‘wouldn’t go to court for 18 months to two years’, The Telegraph reports. The family say Semina was ‘made to feel like she was an inconvenience’ to Merseyside Police and no charges were brought against the alleged offender – whom she had named. Click to view slideshow. Semina’s mother and aunt, Clare, said the lead detective investigating her allegations instead ‘sat there and started talking about all the forms he’d have to fill in if she made the complaint’ and the length of time it would take him.
Chart Wars: Between Snap And Pinterest, Which Stock Is Less Risky?  2022/03/09 20:32:33 Benzinga
Snap, Inc (NYSE: SNAP ) and Pinterest, Inc (NYSE: PINS ) were trading 8% higher at one point on Wednesday, as the general markets rebounded from a steep 4-day downturn during which the S&P 500 declined over 5%. The social media stocks have been heavily beaten down over the past months, with Snap declining almost 60% from its Sept. 24, 2021 all-time high of $83.34 and Pinterest plummeting about 72% from its all-time high of $89.90 printed on Feb. 16 of that same year. Both stocks have started to show signs the bottom may be in, although Pinterest may offer traders and investors less risk because it has confirmed a breakout from a pattern, while Snap is still in the pre-breakout stage. It should be noted, however, that events affecting the general markets, negative or positive reactions to earnings prints and news headlines can quickly invalidate patterns and breakouts. As the saying goes, "the trend is your friend until it isn''t" … Full story available on Benzinga.com

Summary List Placement TikTok is no longer an underdog. The app is now the second most popular platform for influencer marketing (trailing just behind Facebook-owned Instagram and tied with Facebook itself), according to a recent survey of 163 marketers by Linqia, an influencer-marketing agency. Linqia surveyed 163 enterprise marketers and agency professionals (at companies with over $1 billion in revenue) between February and March about their influencer marketing plans for 2021. A whopping 68% of marketers surveyed said they planned on using TikTok for influencer marketing in 2021. That's a dramatic shift from Linqia's survey in early 2020, when only 16% of respondents had indicated they planned to use the short-form video platform. Instagram remained the leading choice for influencer marketing, however. Here was the breakdown of all the major social-media platforms: Instagram: 93% of respondents said they'd be using Instagram (another 83% specifically mentioned Stories) TikTok: 68% (up from 16%) Facebook: 68% (down from 79%) YouTube: 48% Pinterest: 35% Twitter: 32% Snapchat: 26% (up from 16%) Twitch: 13% (up from 5%) "TikTok is here to stay and brands know that," Brian Sorel, COO of the influencer-marketing company NeoReach, told Insider in January.
