Tenet Healthcare abandons plan to spin off Conifer Health subsidiary  2022/03/01 11:58:23 MarketWatch
Shares of Tenet Healthcare Corp. were indicated down more than 1% in Tuesday''s premarket, after the health care services company said it will no longer pursue a spinoff of its Conifer Health Solutions patient payments subsidiary. The company said it made its decision to have Conifer remain part of Tenet after a review by the company''s board of directors and financial and legal advisors, and include expectations that Conifer can deliver fiscal 2022 revenue growth in the mid- to high-single-digit percentage range and have a "strong" margin and cash flow profile. "Conifer is primed with a robust pipeline and recent client wins with value that is not yet fully realized," said Tenet Chief Executive Saum Sutaria. "When coupled with ongoing efficiency opportunities from offshoring and automation, we have a compelling runway for the business." Tenet''s plan to spin off its Conifer sub was announced in July 2019, and was expected at that time to have the spinoff completed in the second quarter of 2021.
