Borrowing costs across the euro area rose on Wednesday, pulling away from multi-month lows hit the previous day, as a sense of calm crept back into European markets. BI expects ESG ETFs to reach USD1tn and ESG debt USD11tn by 2025 Submitted 21/07/2021 - 9:25am Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) assets are on track to exceed USD50 trillion by 2025, representing more than a third of the projected USD140.5 trillion in total global assets under management, according to Bloomberg Intelligences (BI) latest ESG 2021 Midyear Outlook report. ESG assets surpassed USD35 trillion in 2020 up from USD30.6 trillion in 2018 and USD22.8 trillion in 2016 reaching a third of current total global assets under management, according to the Global Sustainable Investment Association. ESG assets crossing the USD35 trillion mark is in-line with BIs own base-case scenario. Assuming 15 per cent growth, half of the pace of the past five years, ESG assets could exceed USD50 trillion by 2025. BI adds that the world is on track to have a USD1 trillion ESG ETF market and an USD11 trillion ESG debt market by 2025. Both ESG ETF and ESG debt are leading the growth among ESG investing strategies.

Fed Reveals Which ETFs It Has Bought So Far Tyler Durden Fri, 05/29/2020 - 14:05 Back in April, we published a list of which ETFs Goldman thought the Fed would purchase as part of its Secondary Market Corporate Credit Facility, which among others, included the HYG and JNK ETFs that held bonds by bankruptcy Hertz as we reported over the weekend. Perhaps in response to inbound inquiries following that publication, moments ago, the Fed for the first time reported which ETFs it held as Of May 19, just days after its started purchasing ETFs in the open market. As shown in the table below, the Fed's purchases were left by the iShares investment grade ETF LQD (at $326MM), followed by two Vanguard corporate bond ETFs, the VCIT ($228MM) and VCSH ($226MM), with the junk bond ETFs, HYG and JNK in 4th and 5th place owning $89.5MM and $88.3MM, respectively. The Fed also announced that Bank of America was the largest market participant in the ETF purchasing program (the SMCCF) with 40 trades, accounting for $337MM in purchases.
