HBO Max will launch an ad-supported subscription plan in the second quarter of 2021. AT&T says that it hasn't set a date for the launch of the cheaper HBO Max plan yet due to the pandemic, but confirmed that it will be ready in the coming months. HBO and HBO Max now have over 41 million subscribers combined. In the last two years, the streaming wars have become even more hotly contested as Apple, Disney, HBO, and NBC all threw their hats into the ring with services of their own. Each has its own set of strengths and weaknesses, but few can compete with HBO Max when it comes to quality or quantity of blockbuster films. On the other hand, few services are as expensive as HBO Max ($14.99/month), but AT&T will soon have a solution for that problem. In a call with investors this week, AT&T CEO John Stankey confirmed that a cheaper, ad-supported HBO Max tier is on track to launch in the second quarter of 2021. He didn't offer any details about pricing, the number of ads that may be shown, or a more specific timetable, but if the plan is expected to make its debut in the coming months, we should hear more about it sooner than later, especially with so many new movies set to hit the service.

The firm's stock soared as much as 8% Thursday morning, following results that beat analyst expectations on both the top and bottom line. ServiceNow, which automates business processes, has helped its customers adjust to remote work and tightening budgets: "We see the themes of digital transformation, cloud computing, and business model innovation, all intersecting at the perfect moment in time for the ServiceNow platform," McDermott said "We are leading this transformation for customers because we enabled them to— literally and fundamentally — do things in an entirely new way to accommodate the circumstances." The company's revenue grew 31% to $1.25 billion for the fourth quarter , with adjusted earnings per share of $1.17, a 22% increase from a year prior. The company also said it closed 89 transactions worth more than $1 million in annual contracts in the quarter, giving it over 1,000 customers paying more than $1 million annually, a 23% increase from the year prior.
