In Episode 7 of Agilent’s Dialogues in CDx, we turn our focus to recent advances in head and neck cancers, a field marked by rapid evolution in diagnostics and clinical decision making. To unpack what’s changing and why it matters for patient care, we welcome two specialists at the forefront of this space, offering complementary insights from pathology and oncology. Professor Cécile Badoual is a pathologist and Head of the Department of Medical Biology and Pathology at Gustave Roussy in Paris. An expert in head and neck cancers, her research focuses on the tumor microenvironment of HPV associated cancers. Beyond her current roles, she has held numerous senior academic and institutional leadership positions, and her career has been recognized with several prestigious honors for her contributions to pathology and translational cancer research. Our second guest, Dr. Marc Oliva, is a medical oncologist and clinician scientist with a focus on head and neck malignancies and early drug development. He trained at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto and is currently a full consultant at the Catalan Institute of Oncology in Barcelona. Dr. Marc Oliva has an established record of peer reviewed scientific publications and is actively engaged in the scientific publishing process as an editor and regular reviewer for leading international oncology and immunology journals.
