Jason Grauten has always believed design should create more than buildings. It should create spaces that bring people together. While in graduate school, Jason teamed up with Dave Lowenstein and Philip Auchettl to transform an unused lot in downtown San Diego into Quartyard, an outdoor community space built entirely from repurposed shipping containers. That project became the foundation for RAD LAB. Today, RAD LAB designs homes, hospitality spaces, adaptive reuse projects, and commercial environments rooted in purpose, place, and community. From Quartyard to Hotel Herringbone in Waco, Texas, the team creates spaces that feel thoughtful, functional, and connected to the people who use them. The RAD LAB team relies on the combination of Revit, AutoCAD, and 3ds Max to bring their vision to life. Whether they are working with engineers, landscape architects, interior designers, or others, Autodesk enables them all to work from a single 3D model, bringing everyone closer to the work.
