Some paintings seem to hum with their own frequency. Claude Monet's Iris, one of the great treasures of the legendary Schlumberger Collection, remained hidden from public view for decades, preserved exactly as the artist left it. Unvarnished, untouched and virtually unseen, it stands as a remarkable survivor from Monet's late period, a moment when his boldest experiments were still misunderstood by much of the art world. Against this extraordinary backdrop, AIR founding member Nicolas Godin performs The Border alongside Adelaïde Ferrière on marimba. Taken from Godin's album Concrete & Glass, the piece evokes "the idea of freeing yourself from all the clutter, noise and norms, a path towards freedom." The result is a rare conversation between music and painting, unfolding in the presence of a masterpiece that spent generations quietly waiting to be seen.
