A recently rediscovered Monet landscape set a new auction record today at Sotheby's Paris. After 100 years in private hands, it achieved €10.2 million in the Modern & Contemporary Evening Sale.
‘Vétheuil, effet du matin’ from 1901 shows some of the most important developments of the Impressionist movement. Monet painted this 20km outside of Giverny along the Seine, depicting the effects of natural light on the water.
