Bootcamp is where Xplor really begins.
In Cape Town, ahead of Mining Indaba, we launched the BHP Xplor 2026 cohort and set the foundations for the year ahead. A full week grounded in business strategy, mineral systems thinking, safety, risk, and leadership.
From workshops with Jeremy Drum using the Playing to Win framework, to deep dives into BHP’s mineral systems approach with John Miller, to honest conversations about responsible discovery and long-term value, this is where ideas start to connect to real rocks, real data, and real decisions.
Highlights included a fireside chat with Rohitesh “Ro” Dhawan, President and CEO of ICMM, and a panel at Mining Indaba on tech and workforce readiness. We also marked an important step forward with an MOU focused on strengthening geoscientific collaboration in South Africa. By the end of the week, the cohort no longer felt like a list of companies. It felt like a collective.
The 2026 journey is officially underway.
