BMA is now the first Australian operation at BHP to have 100% of its forecast electricity demand matched through renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Through our partnership with Queensland’s publicly-owned energy generator and retailer, CleanCo, the electricity that powers our operations is now backed by renewable sources like wind, solar and pumped hydro. This is a big step forward in how we power BMA - and what lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions mining can look like in action.
