Enterprise AI agents need more than access to files — they need a trusted knowledge layer.
In this demo, we show how Box can serve as an agent-accessible knowledge vault: a shared, permission-aware, versioned, and reviewable knowledge base that agents can use across enterprise workflows.
Using Box Hubs, Box AI, and Box MCP, a procurement manager asks an AI agent to evaluate a fictional vendor, Nimbus Analytics. The agent combines approved domain knowledge from curated Hubs — vendor risk, procurement, security review, and compliance — with vendor-specific intake files to draft a risk report.
When restricted legal and finance guidance is unavailable, the agent does not guess. It flags the right human review steps, saves the draft back to Box, and keeps the workflow grounded in approved source content.
The result is a governed knowledge layer where agents reason over trusted domain knowledge, humans stay in the loop, and reviewed outputs become reusable organizational memory.

FAQs
Q: Does Box AI train on my company's content? A: No. Box AI does not train on your content, keeping proprietary information protected while still delivering intelligent outputs grounded in your enterprise data.
Q: How does Box keep AI responses secure and within permissions? A: Box AI operates within your existing access controls. Users and agents only interact with content they are authorized to see — so AI responses are grounded in governed, authorized enterprise content, not the full data estate.
Q: What is the Box MCP Server and why does it matter? A: The Box MCP Server securely connects external AI agents to your Box content while preserving Box security and access policies. It eliminates the need for complex ETL pipelines or custom integrations, letting agents access real-time, governed content through a standardized protocol.
Q: Can Box work with the AI models my team already uses? A: Yes. Box gives you the flexibility to work with the AI models of your choice — from leading vendors — on one centralized platform, so teams aren't locked into a single model or vendor.
Q: What kinds of workflows can Box automate? A: Box supports a wide range of document-heavy workflows including contract review, claims processing, vendor onboarding, invoice management, KYC and account opening, FOIA responses, and more — all automated with AI agents that extract, route, and act on your content.
About Box: Box is the secure AI platform for enterprise content. We help organizations connect their unstructured data to any AI agent, automate complex workflows, and maintain governance and compliance — all in one place. Learn more at box.com.
