公式動画&関連する動画 [How a risk-averse company became an AI leader]
Governance is usually seen as the brake on innovation. At Orica, it was the accelerator.
Bradley Hunt, Asia-Pacific AI, Insights and Solutions Practice Leader at Orica, joins Katrina Read, Sr. Director Inspire Value ANZ at ServiceNow, to explain how a 150-year-old organisation with safety as its core operating principle moved quickly and confidently on generative AI.
The answer was not to slow down. It was to build the right structure first.
Orica stood up a governance model before scaling adoption. That meant using ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to track AI initiatives, a CMDB to track AI applications and models, and an Employee Centre to give staff visibility into what tools were approved and available. An AI Committee handled everyday risk assessment. An AI Council handled elevated risk cases involving commercial data or sensitive use.
The result: developers and teams could move fast because they knew every initiative had gone through a clear, auditable process. Governance did not block innovation. It gave people the confidence to take risk.
What you will learn:
How Orica structured AI governance without slowing down adoption
Why safety-first culture accelerated rather than hindered the AI journey
How ServiceNow was used to track, audit and communicate AI initiatives across the business
What right-sized governance looks like in a large, risk-averse organisation
