In this tutorial, learn how to configure JSON Web Token authentication between a standalone Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence instance and its source Fusion Applications environment. JSON Web Token authentication allows the standalone instance to connect to Fusion Applications without using a stored system-account password.
The tutorial shows how to generate an RSA private key of at least 2,048 bits using an organization-approved OpenSSL distribution and create an X.509 public certificate from that private key. It also covers storing the private key securely, restricting access according to organizational security requirements, setting the certificate validity period, and providing certificate subject information based on applicable certificate policies.
Next, the tutorial demonstrates how to configure API authentication in the Fusion Applications Security Console. This includes creating an Oracle API authentication provider, entering the required trusted issuer, selecting JSON Web Token as the token type, and importing the public certificate for inbound API authentication.
